Housing orientation<br />
Living in your Roman apartment will be a stimulating experience. Things could be difficult at first but, when you familiarize yourself with your new “ hut”, It will become your special place, and all your efforts will be repaid. Contrary to the US, most Italian university students live in shared apartments, not dorms: this is why we would like to do the same! This unique experience will provide you with first hand access to all intricacies of the Italian culture.<br />
<strong>Monday February 6th  &#8211; Afternoon</strong><br />
Introduction  to wine culture<br />
Learn to drink like an Italian; by savoring the flavors and distinctive qualities of fine Italian wines. Heather Hanson will introduce you to wine tasting basic techniques while exploring several types of Italian wine accompanied by complementary food tasting.<br />
<strong>Thursday February 9th – Afternoon </strong><br />
Italy, a geographical overview</p>
<p>During this lecture, students will be introduced to the geography of the Italian peninsula and to  the Italian historic background. They will be explained useful information that will help them orientate during their semester abroad: the morphology of the peninsula, the difference between north and south, the climate, the regions and the different cultural and food habits.<br />
<strong><span id="more-722"></span>Monday February 20th –  Evening</strong><br />
Gianicolo Hill and Santa Maria in Trastevere<br />
Gianicolo Hill, with arguably the best view of Rome, is one of the most romantic place in the city.   We’ll walk through the charming neighborhood of Trastevere,  home to one of the oldest churches in Rome, Santa Maria in Trastevere, which dates back to 340’s AD and it is the home to the relic of Saint Apollonia’s head, a portion of the Holy Sponge, as well as numerous 13th century mosaic masterpieces. Then we will have a social aperitivo in one of the trendiest bar in Rome in this famous area.<br />
<strong>Friday March 2nd  – Daily t rip</strong><br />
Enjoy the  pleasures of slow life in Tuscania<br />
Famous for its tufa rocks promontories, Tuscania, the beautiful Etruscan town is located in the North of Rome, not far from the seacoast. During the cooking demonstration you will learn how to cook typical Italian dishes as well as taste them and enjoy the lunch! We will also visit the medieval town of Viterbo!!!<br />
<strong>Monday March 5th &#8211; Afternoon</strong><br />
Habits  and  the  city<br />
During this funny yet enjoyable lecture you will learn a lot about the cultural differences between  USA and EUROPE, with particular a care of Italy. This will help to gain an higher level of awareness of the strong local identity and at the same time you’ll discover that what sometimes could seem like a cultural clash could turn into a new experience.<br />
<strong>Thursday March 29th &#8211; Afternoon </strong><br />
Experience Imperial Rome in 3-D<br />
Have fun watching the incredible games at the Colosseum, walking through the crowded Roman Forum and glancing at the Temple of Vesta. An adventure through time in 3D with incredible special effects. Learn about the history of Rome with amusing interactive games, educational films,<br />
the “Wheel of Time” and anecdotes and curiosities about the past. You too can become a part of history.<br />
<strong>Monday April 16th &#8211; Evening</strong><br />
Wine Tasting at one of Rome’s best wine bars<br />
Learn to drink like an Italian; by savoring the flavors and distinctive qualities of fine Italian wines. This tasting will arm you with the introductory skills to wine taste while an assortment of regional wines at local “enoteca”. The tastings will be accompanied by complementary food tasting.<br />
<strong>Thursday April 26th &#8211; Afternoon</strong><br />
Tiramisù experience<br />
If you think to know how a good dessert tastes like…you will change your mind for ever after you try this Tiramisu. Homemade by this legendary bar in Rome POMPI, this is called the Temple of Tiramisu: you will find out they have their good reasons!<br />
<strong>Friday May 4th  &#8211; Dailytrip</strong><br />
Sacred  Wood of Bomarzo ( Monster Park  )<br />
Situated just a few miles from Viterbo, the Sacred Wood of Bomarzo is perhaps one of the oddest places on earth. Better known as the   Monster  Park  , the Sacred Wood is an unusual creation done by Vicino Orsini, the lord of Bomarzo, in the mid sixteenth century. It consists of a green area scattered with huge statues. We will also visit the beautiful “ TREBOTTI” organic wine farm, famous also for its extra-virgin olive oil and honey. We will taste wine as well as having a delicious homemade lunch. Something cannot be missed!!<br />
<strong>Thursday May 10th &#8211; Evening </strong><br />
Farewell Dinner<br />
Your time in Rome is not complete without a taste of the famously delicious thin crust Roman Pizza, accompanied by Fritti Misti ( fried mozzarella, rice balls, fried olives etc. ). Say goodbye to Rome at “La Montecarlo*” one of the most delicious Pizzerias.</p>

Umbria is the undiscovered Tuscany, a region of stunning scenery, ancient, art-filled hill towns and exceptional food and wine, as well as the home of italian famous “Perugina”chocolate. During the cooking demonstration, we will cook “our own lunch,” eating our fresh made pasta, and tasting a good wine. We will also visit the Perugia town!</p>

This is the opportunity to get back a more human rhythm of life, enjoying the several activities which will go on all day long in school: listening to music, watching a movie, having lunch together and moreover learning something about what we could do every day to help the planet in a group lecture. Finally a group activity will emphasize the aspects of the socializing.</p>

Things could be difficult at first but, when you familiarize yourself with your new “ hut”, It will become your special place, and all your efforts will be repaid. Contrary to the US, most Italian university students live in shared apartments, not dorms: this is why we would like to do the same! This unique experience will provide you with first hand access to all intricacies of the Italian culture.<br />
<strong>Thursday February 3rd – Afternoon </strong><br />
Italy, a geographical overview<br />
During this lecture, students will be introduced to the geography of the Italian peninsula and to  the Italian historic background. They will be explained useful information that will help them orientate during their semester abroad: the morphology of the peninsula, the difference between north and south, the climate, the regions and the different cultural and food habits.<br />
<strong>Monday February 7th &#8211; Afternoon</strong><br />
Introduction  to wine culture<br />
Learn to drink like an Italian; by savoring the flavors and distinctive qualities of fine Italian wines. Heather Hanson will introduce you to wine tasting basic techniques while exploring several types of Italian wine accompanied by complementary food tasting.<br />
<strong>Thursday February 17th –  Evening</strong><br />
Gianicolo Hill and Santa Maria in Trastevere<br />
Gianicolo Hill, with arguably the best view of Rome, is one of the most romantic place in the city.   We’ll walk through the charming neighborhood of Trastevere,  home to one of the oldest churches in Rome, Santa Maria in Trastevere, which dates back to 340’s AD and it is the home to the relic of Saint Apollonia’s head, a portion of the Holy Sponge, as well as numerous 13th century mosaic masterpieces. Then we will have a social aperitivo in one of the trendiest bar in Rome in this famous area.<br />
<strong>Thursday March 3rd &#8211; Afternoon</strong><br />
Tiramisù experience<br />
If you think to know how a good dessert tastes like…you will change your mind for ever after you try this Tiramisu. Homemade by this legendary bar in Rome POMPI, this is called the Temple of Tiramisu: you will find out they have their good reasons!<br />

Habits  and  the  city<br />
During this funny yet enjoyable lecture you will learn a lot about the cultural differences between  USA and EUROPE, with particular a care of Italy. This will help to gain an higher level of awareness of the strong local identity and at the same time you’ll discover that what sometimes could seem like a cultural clash could turn into a new experience.<br />
<strong>Friday March 11 h &#8211; Daily</strong><br />
Sacred  Wood of Bomarzo ( Monster Park  )<br />
Situated just a few miles from Viterbo, the Sacred Wood of Bomarzo is perhaps one of the oddest places on earth. Better known as the   Monster  Park  , the Sacred Wood is an unusual creation done by Vicino Orsini, the lord of Bomarzo, in the mid sixteenth century. It consists of a green area scattered with huge statues. We will also visit the beautiful “ TREBOTTI” organic wine farm, famous also for its extra-virgin olive oil and honey. We will taste wine as well as having a delicious homemade lunch. Something cannot be missed!!<br />
<strong>Thursday April 14th &#8211; Evening</strong><br />
Wine Tasting at one of Rome’s best wine bars<br />
Learn to drink like an Italian; by savoring the flavors and distinctive qualities of fine Italian wines. This tasting will arm you with the introductory skills to wine taste while an assortment of regional wines at local “enoteca”. The tastings will be accompanied by complementary food tasting.<br />

Have fun watching the incredible games at the Colosseum, walking through the crowded Roman Forum and glancing at the Temple of Vesta. An adventure through time in 3D with incredible special effects. Learn about the history of Rome with amusing interactive games, educational films,<br />
the “Wheel of Time” and anecdotes and curiosities about the past. You too can become a part of history.<br />

Enjoy nature and the pleasures of slow life in Umbria<br />
Umbria is the undiscovered Tuscany, a region of stunning scenery, ancient, art-filled hill towns and exceptional food and wine, as well as the home of italian famous “Perugina”chocolate. During the cooking demonstration, we will cook “our own lunch,” eating our fresh made pasta, and tasting a good wine. We will also visit the Perugia town!<br />
<strong>Thursday May 12th &#8211; Evening</strong><br />
Farewell Dinner<br />
Your time in Rome is not complete without a taste of the famously delicious thin crust Roman Pizza, accompanied by Fritti Misti ( fried mozzarella, rice balls, fried olives etc. ). Say goodbye to Rome at “La Montecarlo*” one of the most delicious Pizzerias.</p>
